what is the importance of monitoring and controlling the ORP in a reef tank? Is it a must? I am looking to add a calcium reactor to my system adn will be controlling it with a PH controller..probaby a Milwaukee brand( any input on these controllers?) adn wonder if I should opt for the controller with ORP controls as well. Thanks in advance!

It stands for Oxidation Reduction Potential and generally should run on average between 300 - 400. I have a Neptune w/ the probes along w/ ph probe, if ORP drop drastically I know something is dying, decaying. If I had a choice between the 2 I would choose the ph probe. Also, I use ORP reading to determine my water changes, if its low 300's then water change and it'll jump up to the high 300's.
