Ditto, the cukes with those feathery projections are filter feeders. They can also poison tanks when stressed, so make sure there are no powerheads where it could blunder into one.

Guess thats what I get for trusting some guys with marine biology degrees with my livestock info. Maybe they minored at business and interned at Enron ;)
No luck finding invert gumbo so far but I will keep my eyes peeled.
Thanks

Any food for filter feeders, store bought or home made, should help, though it needs to be quite small particle size...some of the liquid diets, for example. This species is more commonly called a pink/green cucumber. You may be able to search for information. Doing a search on any board, or on google, for the scientific genus name 'Colochirus' may also help.

The fact that it has grown smaller is definitely a concern. A major one. They can take nearly a year, in some cases, to starve to death.

Dr. Toonen (Biogeek) has a particularly good post here (it deals with another filter feeder, the sea apple, but it is a close relative of yours). Scroll down for his answer (though there are other links in the thread that may be of interest):

I have been adding a bit of tahitian blend every other day to my tank. Should I be adding something different or something in addition to this to help feed this guy?
Thanks for your help

i have a pink/green and a black/orange cuke the latter was a hitch hiker i feed them both with DT's and a product called roti-rich they were shrinking untill i started target feeding them with a pipette the roti-rich clouds the tank and dosent need to be target feed however i feel the DT's does.
