Quick, kill it while you have time! 8O Seriously, it looks nice. They are very entertaining to watch IMO. I have some myself, but beware, they grow like weeds.

I know what you mean.......I am so tempted to get some but it could quickly become a problem. :? :?: :?

Some xenias yes like the xenia elanagota(sp?) can get out of hand. So can the Anthellia types but this type of xenia, pom pom tends to grow into larger colonies and spread slower. Very easy to control if the Aquarist spends a little time with the tank.

I have had it in my SPS tank a long time and just rip heads completely off the rock when I want to prune off colony a bit. If it did get out of hand the cut and kalk paste method would work to destroy it.

54$ is a lot but it doesn't ship well so most MO xenia is chancy and the LFS really only get it when other hobbyists bring it in so its never a mainstay coral for most LFS. I would have paid up to 35 if I really liked it but would be better off finding a local hobbyist with some. Anyway, HTH.

I think you guys are highly exagerating. It doesn't grow so fast that you can't control it. GEEZ  You don't even have to trim it as much as you have to clean the glass or other routine maintenance. Mine is growing steadily. And when it gets to much I will cut it and sell it at the lfs.

Everyone is so high strung about xenia.

-By the way Xenia is a great phosphate remover! Better than caulerpa. :!:
