school of chromis fo a 120

how many chromis and what strain do you all think I should add to my 120? Can I mike the different strains or not?

hey ron, i used to have 12 green chromis in my 240g. It was neat seing them swim in schools. I am now down to 3, i don't know if something was eating them of the little guys were harrassed thru darwinsm. What other fish do you have in the tank? I think you could get away with at least a school of 5, i heard they do well in odd numbers. I'm doing some research into getting a small school of anthias. well, good luck!

Hay Zair I wish I had an answer to your question. I would like to suggest that you consider that these guys are pretty rough and maybe bothersome on other fish. If your setting up fish only tank keeping other tough guys this would probably work well. However I would try to think long term before I stock especially if You have LR and intend to go reef latter on. The chromis will do great in either type of tank but you may find other fish to drop in a tank with corals that are very beautiful and very timid making them a good target for the chromis who by the way love to nip. Of course with that size tank and ample hiding space for other fish everyone should be happy. It would also be heck trying to move the rock and scooping them out latter on if you have a change of heart. This is the type of stuff that drove me crazy at the start but its just some stuff to consider.Good luck.

I have 5 red sea green chromis in my 120. Chromis aren't afraid of anything so their presence in the front of the tank 24/7 helps coax everyone else to be sociable, IMO. After introducing the chromis a month ago the fish stay out when hands are in the tank and my black tang will hand feed! Yeah!

The main reason that i introduced them is crudely enough, to tinkle and poo on my SPS. And i wouldn't let just anyone poo on my acro's...
