Dynamat (thin) placed under the return pump may help a little, as may foam insulation (available at home depot) around the return pipe. Sonex won't do anything.

-Ahhh, I thought I was onto some magic fix here  , thanks.

Maybe, maybe not. It is hard to say without seeing your set-up (and there are those that seem to know a lot more about it than I do). But Sonex might help if the vibration from the noise is generating sound waves that could be absorbed by the Sonex. Perhaps the pipe's vibration is being transmitted to the wall, which then acts like a drum. Placing sound absorbing panels on, or adjacent to the wall might help to absorb the sound. The only way to see for sure is to experiment by placing different materials in different locations and see what happens.

-I'm with ya Mike, the only problem is this sure would be some expensive experimentation with the prices of this stuff. BTW, the pvc is not touching the wall and is cushioned by foam at the only two places it makes contact behind the stand. The sound is actually coming from the pipe itself, I was hopping to find a way short of wrapping the entire run (15') with an insulation material.

They sell foam insulation for pipe. It is used to either keep the pipe from freezing or to keep condensation on the pipe from dripping onto other stuff. I have not seen this stuff at Home Depot, but I would guess that a Plumbing Supply house would have it. My father was a plumber and I remember working with the stuff when I helped out on a few jobs back in my youth.
