I dont think it is the acclimation. it is the bloom. let the bloom run its course. dont do water changes unless it is gonna hurt the rest of the inverts. I hope your tank is not going thru a second cycle...

i didnt add snails until my sycle was done. i only add them once and theni switch to a conch. hth

my tank has gone through a cycle, all the params are fine, it's just this brown algae bloom that's come up all of a sudden. I'm still checking the params and everything still checks out fine. Nerite snails seem to be doing fine though.

Mine never did another cycle when I replaced the CC bed. I was carefull with the Live Rock (150lbs) and used 20lbs of "live sand" in the refugium (installed the same day). I think that this helped, as I could never detect anything aside from Nitrates for the two weeks after the switch (checked every other day).

No phosphates detectable...I suspect the algae is consuming it too fast to detect it. Yet I cannot figure out where it is being introduced. RO/DI, no flake, very light feedings of brine, calerpa, etc... and I do alternate the Kent Phosphate Sponge media every 2 weeks with Carbon.

Hmmmm.....

i was thinking the same thing. Silica.....

Try using Phosban or the Marc Weis phosphate silicate remover. Both products are the same.....

it will pull your phosphates to zero and keep it there for 6 months without leaching... ( up to 125g tank per can of product) I am using it. I noticed my alveopora was not opening as much.. i added it yesterday. and today it was fully out.... might want to consider trying it....

this products pulls inorgainc and orgaic phospate out of the water and locks it out so it cant be used and will not leach...

dr fosters and smith carry both products.... your LFS might also...
