I was thinking of creating a sea grass tank, but I don't really know what the requirements are. I have been thinking of using a 20 gallon tank as I want to keep sea horses. Can anyone offer any requirements for sea grasses and things that I should consider. Secondly, I want to keep the grass essentially as a hitching post for sea horses. Is this a good idea or no? Can I use southdown sand as substrate if I use 3-4 inches? I was also thinking of keeping a shrimp and shrimp goby in the tank. I thought that since they are fairly docile that it might be interesting with the horses. Please let me know of your thoughts. I am thinking of lighting with DIY power compacts and Lights of America ballasts. thanks.
