? on sea swirl

I have a 40g that measures 36 X 18 X 16 (L W H) will 1 3/4 sea swirl be adequate? Also can I use any size pump for the sea swirl. Thanks for the help again. Drew

I would think if you had it at one end of the tank it would be great. Either way you have to remember that it can only reach so many places. You might need to add a small powerhead or aim your sump return to the area the SS can't reach, which will be right under where its mounted.

I would personally do a pair of 1/2 inch shorties myself. But yes a 3/4 inch would give good current in that tank.
