Kalk reactor and Calcium reactor in same unit?

Was wonder what you guys thought of the idea of having a kalkwasser reactor and Calcium reactor in the same unit. Imagine a Dual stage calcium reactor, however the sides are not connected, one side is run as a kalk reactor and the other as a single stage calcium reactor. It would save space, be a cleaner looking set up, and take care of the pH issue while getting the best of both of the calcium worlds! What do you think?

The kalk rxtor need RO/DI or very soft water as input, while the calcium need salt water to work efficiently. So the inputs needs to be separate. The kalk output is high in pH, and need to go to a high current area of sump/tank to disperse, while the calcium output is low in pH, and needs to be in a high current area of sump/tank to disperse. Both output must be away from each other as much as possible, otherwise the calcium ion will precipate out as unsoluable carbonate.

So the input is different, and the output is different, and you are just basically having two reactors, and strap them together with duct tape... what is the advantage? There is nothing either reactor is sharing with the other either.

The reason is space savings, both units in one piece, saves under tank space, cleaner set up, save shipping costs, etc etc. Just think it would be easier for someone starting up to get them both at the same time.

Exellent idea, but it would push costs up quite a bit.

I would still want the CA reactor to be dual chambered though.

What you could do is have them lock together with some form of bracket, that way you could buy one side, say the reactor, and then add the neilson reactor to it later.

Space is a premium in my sump..
