plumbing ? Iwaki to SS

I have a MD30RLT for a return pump for my 75 gallon. I want to plumb to two sea swirls one 1/2" and one 3/4" dividing the flow equally, My question is do I plumb one 1" line up to the seaswirls then tee or do I tee straight off the pump. I want to avoid as much head pressure as possible.

pump-----> 1" pvc union ---> 1" pipe ---> 1" T -------> 1"x3/4" bushing ---> 3/4" pipe -----> sea swirl ............and off the other side of the T -----> 1"x 1/2" bushing -----> 1/2" pipe -----> seaswirl

I understand the concept of plumbing but your reply doesn't answer my question. Which way will have the least head pressure; Tee at the pump or tee before the seaswirl?

Technically, I don't think it will make a difference. You'll get the same head loss at either place. And you'll ultimately get the same friction loss as well, it will just be in a different order.

Actually that is not correct. It is better to place the reducer as far away from the pump as posible, because the smaller pipe will add a big head loss by means of friction.

Ahhh, yes...that makes sense. I was thinking about equal size pipe on either side of the T...I did not account for the reduction in size.
