i woke up this morning to a hazy fog in my tank all my corals looked like total ****.it looked like a whitish haze was in my tank, i did a water change right away. put in a bag a chemi-pure and a poly filter also, my fish were very stressed out and breathing heavily, and did not take food today, my tank is a ten gallon nano with the following livestock, mostly softies.
green star polyp, feather duster, ricordia, shrooms ,finger leather, candy cane ,xenia, and assorted button polyps, i have 6 hermits and 2 fish both 5 years old from previous tank.i have some algea but none went sexuall i prune regularly, i do water changes weekly and add nothing but kalk(dripped in over days for top off) i have 15 lb s fiji rock, live sand for filter, i have power heads for current, and this tank is established and never done anything but flourish.......any suggestions on what it could be i will perform another water change but the haze is still in the tank..what should i do to protect my fish ?they are my biggesst concern now iv had them long and dont want to loose them......suggestions please?

sounds like a bacterial bloom-must be triggered by something-have you tested your water?

fwiw-bacteria blooms usually have to run their course, in order to be truly rid of 'em-but the cause is anything from an ammonia spike(like cleaning glass with ammonia based glass cleaner, to unnoticed mortality,to overfeeding, pump burnout, ...you get the idea  )

first thing i'd do is massive water changes-1/4 daily, at least-run polyfilter/carbon, changing them every 3-4 days-double check tank/fiter for anything dead, proper working, etc.also-add an airstone/pump.

test your water for everything and let us know what results you get :)
