alright, good advice. Do you think I could get away with 2 clowns, or should I not risk it?

Just get one. Do not go over one inch to five gallons until at least 6 months. What kind of filtration do you have?

if you add the clowns next, just allow some extra time until the next addition-both to account for the extra fish, and to allow the clowns to pair bond w/out interference from the addition of the coral beauty

or you could add the beauty first, wait a month, then add the pair

Hey Vitz.....think I can add another Perc? I have one Perc TR,a Dwarf Hawk,3 inch Fox,and a Royal Gramma. I have no corals or shrooms. My inverts are Fighting Conch,Orange Spiny Star, Emerald crab and just about half a dozen hermits. :?: :?: :?:

i have a beautiful flame in my reef he has never bothered anything in the 2 years i have had him.

They are a very nice fish....so are the Bicolors. I wish I had waited a while longer to place the first one in my tank. Maybe it would have done just fine.

my filtration is a remora skimmer, 30 lbs live rock, and a deep sand bed. The tank has been established for about 3 months w/ live rock. Do you think I could add one perc and then the CB. Then later, if I thought there was room, I could add a second perc? Would the clowns fight, or would they still form a bond like they would if I added them together?

I really would not add the CB till your tank is at least 4 months old. You can add yout Clowns now.

You said this is a 29gal, yeah? If so, I would either rethink the fox (it's gonna get big for that sys but quick), or go without any more fish. Take care with what other inverts you put in with that Spiny Star.

I have a 29 gal tank, i have a coral beauty, 2 cinnamon clowns (added at the same time when they were babies) and a bangii cardinal. As far as corals, i have a frogspawn, a speckled tonga, a devils hand, star polyps, blue/green button polyps, toadstool leather, and pulsing xenia
I have had no problems out of any of the fish either with each other or with any of them nipping at the corals.
my tank has had inhabitants since july,2002

Yes...the fox is growing and soon to be in a larger 55 gallon Fish/Liverock only. Then I may add a Pygmy Angel to the 29. Maybe I will try another Flame Angel..or maybe a Bicolor...or may be a Flame Hawk..and maybe I will be able to make a decision. LOL I really like the Bicolor alot..but I don't want to kill another one.

iron mike,

have at it. generally no issues at all with coral beauties. hey, any fish will pick at anything if he is hungry. keep him happy and he will return the favor.

good luck.

I have had the same coral beauty for 4 years now and it has never bothered anything. I do have a few SPS, LPS, and softies. It was in a 90 gal for 2 years and has been in my current 180 for the past 2 years.
