iwasaki 250 with actinic

does any one have iwasaki m.h 6500k bulb with actinic ?
i hurd that the iwasaki are the best light to sps
but the color is more yellow green and to fix it you must add 2-4 actinic

before i buy iwasaki i realy like to see photos of tank with iwasaki and actinic.

and if some one can show the diferent - with the actinic and without.

I personally have two 250W iwaski and supplement with two vho actinic on a 75 AGA. IMO the tank looks pretty white to me and coral growth is excellent. It’s really a matter of preference, but I chose the iwaski’s because of their PAR rating……supposedly the best for SPS corals and clams. My only regret is I didn’t do the 400W bulbs…..

In the future, I may try a 10K Ushio bulb, as I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. However, only if I could return it if I end up not liking it!

I've been running the Iwasaki's (pair of 250's on a 90-gal), with 2 VHO Actinic's (110 watt's each) for almost 3 years now, and do like the look and growth I get. I think they're fine bulb, that last long, put out a great amount of light, and grow corals very well. There's some good analysis of the spectrum's and intensity's of various aquarium bulbs out there on the 'net... Sanjay Joshi did a very excellent and thorough comparison using light meters, PAR meters, and all sorts of other fancy equipment, and included many charts and diagrams comparing the bulbs. All of the evidence is presented un-biased, and it's an easy read too (for non-PAR people like me).
Give his name a looksee on your favorite search engine, I'm sure you'll find it.

I have 4x 250w iwasakis and 2 72' vho actinics on my 150. I like the look of it and my stuff grows pretty quick. A friend told me the 400 w iwasakis appeared more yellow than the 250's which is why I went with 4x250 rather than 3x400. (That and the center brace on my tank).

The whole site is basically of my 90 reef, and that's always been the lighting I described earlier.

JBB, I've heard the same thing. A friend tried a 400 Iwasaki over his 40, and even I have to admit, it didn't look quite right.
