How would 2 of these fish settle in a 50 gallon with 2 clowns ,3 chromes and a mandarin? I am told by LFS that they are passive as damsels go but anyone have personal info ? Thanks
Let's hope he's referring to Pomacentrus alleni and not Microspathodon chrysurus. The former remains relatively small (50 mm) and is relatively docile for a damselfish. The latter gets to be a large (160 mm) beast that will even attack human hands!
Assuming it's Pomacentrus alleni, it MIGHT get along in your 50 gallon, but I suspect that it will chase your clownfish and more docile chromis as time goes by and it gets larger and bolder. 50 gallon is a bit small for damsels, IMO.
i had a pair or those in my fo 90 but my hungry blue line grouper ate them with in a week so i cant say much they seemed quite cool before they became food
