I'm finally ready to purchase my rock but wanted to ask you if there is anything you think I sould have in my possession before I purchase it. I plan on having a FOWLR tank.

This is what I have:
65gal tank
PC lighting 55watt (day) & 55watt (night) = total 110watts
Aqua C Skimmer
2 Tronic 100wat heaters
2 Maxi-jet PH Mp1200 powerheads
enough sand for a 3 to 4' DBS

Misc:
Thermometer
10cm fish net
5 11/12 fish net
Scrub pad and scraper for glass
Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Test kit for water (ph, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate)
Coralife salt
tank background

I will be purchasing a q-tank pretty soon, but plan on running my live rock for a few months before I purchase any fish or inverts.
I will also be purchasing around 50 to 100lbs of live rock from Harbor Aquatics.
Also, what should I get to feed the live rock?

Any help would be appreciated.

you need make provisions for alk/cal replacement.

add a hydrometer and a turkey baster to your misc. items. you may want to upgrade your scraper to an algae magnet.

You don't need anything to feed the LR, there is enough nutrient to carry on the cycling of the tank without any additives. If you intend to keep corals, you may need more lights.

Also, you need to consider getting a RO/DI unit for top off water and mixing salt. A trashcan and extra powerhead for mixing new salt water a night before actually using it. Extra long vinyl tubes for water change and siphoning old water out of the tank.

Additionally, you will need a bottle of betadine to treat minor cuts and wounds from messing around with your tank. Bandages and stitches are optional.

for your fish only days you will use up considerably less cal/alk than your full blown reef tank. two part solution would be one exeptable method.
