I use to have a Harliquin Shrimp(not sure of spelling) in my reef and would get him a Choc.Chip star every 4-6weeks for his dinner.Well a few months ago I got him his star and all seemed fine. Then the shrimp disappeared and was never seen again. So now I had a star in my reef tank.It didn't seem to bother anything so I left it,but kept an eye on it.I was beginning to think it would be fine until tonight. As I past the tank I noticed that the Rhodactis Mushroom that my Perc. clown(Krusty) calls home had expelled its insides and had white stringy stuff sticking out everywhere. Then I saw that the star was attacking it.I was just starting to think that the star would be ok in there,a false since of security. Now the star was sent to the sump and the mushroom has already recovered.(MORAL OF STORY)NEVER TRUST KNOBBY BACKED STARS IN A REEF TANK.Heres a picture of mushroom 15 minutes after I removed star,it was already starting to recover its insides but you can see it was stressed.
