Ouch! Same thing happened to me on my forearm. I have a perfect circle which comes out in summer when I get a tan. Although it wasn't as noticable this summer, so maybe there is hope a few years down the line it will disappear.

I was expecting worse... :?

About 9 months ago a couple barista buddies and I decided to form a coffee shop fight club. Remember that scene in the movie where Brad Pitt dumps the acid on Ed Norton's hand and makes him hold it there? Yeah, well the closest thing we had to that was espresso shots brewing straight out of the machine. So the clenched fists went under the pouring espresso...

I don't know exactly how hot the liquid actually was, but when I put my hand under some cold running water the skin washed right off. It was pretty nasty, and my hand looked like absolute junk for the next few weeks. I've got a quarter-sized scar on one of my knuckles from where the espresso poured continuously on it.

Ultimately, this was the first and last act of our coffee shop fight club...the other guys saw what happened and backed out.

Cool scab ernie.

If you get the vitamin E liquigells and keep the whle area moistened with vit E, it will scar a LOT less.

Trust me, I used to cook for a living...

I tried those liquid patches that keep the wound moist and they seemed to work fairly well, but I think the best thing was smeering it constantly with Polysporin and keeping it covered. Mine healed up a LOT better than my friends--you can faintly see the scar unless it's cold out or something.

Didn't mean to steal the thunder of this thread....that's still a crappy thing to happen. It could've been worse, thought, like a lionfish sting or something. ;)

Ernie, thats one helluva scab man. Keep it open like you have though, i hate it when plasters make wounds all soft and squidgy. Play safe bro. :D

Wolf- Yes, they did. The bishop of our church here lost about 30 trees and his greenhouse (I was going to set up a prop tank there) and luckily had no damage to his house. The tornado was said to be an F5 that went through his place.

I was on the road traveling and missed it all. Luckily my family is all safe and sound, and all our friends also.

I did that a couple weeks ago on a 175watt MH, and I thought that hurt! Mine was pretty red but it didn't scab quite as bad as yours... looks like it might scar though. I applied aloe from my aloe plant to mine and seemed to help the healing process. Hope it gets better soon :)

That's good to hear. I saw how destructive even the little mini-tornados could be when I lived in North Carolina. Can't imagine an F5!!

Ouch!! I did the same thing a few months back, and still have a scar.
Too bad you didn't get burned by a 20K, it probably wouldn' t look as yellow. :P ........maybe that was something else. Hope you feel better. :D

Update: The scarring is aqtually quite noticible, but since I have a very large and noticible scar on the right side of my face (about 7" long) I am not to worried about the scar on my hand.
