Talk to www.billsreef.com. Bill is the collector of macro algae and for species not local to him, he will get them for you. Tell him the macro is to be used for refugium, he will select the rooted or attached to rock one's for you.

The best refugium fodder I've found is Chaetomorpha, or Brill-O Pad algae. Every other kind attaches to the rock, and is a PIA to remove come cleaning time (not to mention may go sexual). This stuff grows in a nice, tight wad, and never attaches to anything. Removal is a breeze, just rip some out. The bugs and worms seem to love it too.

I bought gracilaria from billsreef for my refugium and love it. I used to grow caulerpa, probably the most common macro used in refugia, and I will never use it again. I was very satisfield with www.billsreef.com

I think the best macro algae is Hawaiian Red Mangroves
you can check in this url

http://www.aloha.net/~hqf/indexmangroves.htm

and i quote

The use of mangroves plants for filtration in a saltwater aquarium, particularly for helping to reduce and control nitrates is not a new concept. It has been around for quite some time, but few aquarists have really known much about it. However, this is changing because more and more aquarists are looking for a "natural" method of filtration for their aquariums, so mangroves are drawing more attention all the time.

ciao

 Of course, there's always the non-retail route- post in the WTB/WTT forum, and ask your fellow hobbyists for some. Quite a few folks will just charge you shipping.
