RIP coral banded shrimp

After gracing my tank for 11 years my coral banded shrimp is doing the permanent backstroke. I brought him home from the reefs of Tobago on a research trip back in 1992. He was a bully and sometimes just plan mean, but my family and I loved him non the less. He will be missed.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I tell you what, I'm amazed at the amount of time it lived in your tank. 11 years is a long time!

Is that length of time typical or atypical? If atypical, is it because he was "wild" and not caught and shipped, tank bred, etc?
