Yeah, I have one and it works fine. Will turn on and off powerheads or whatever for up to three minutes each from 3 outlets. Other three outlets are standard.
I have one, they work great. The only recommendation is to get good powerheads. Like Maxi-Jets. The start and stop of most powerheads can put alot of wear and tear on them. WIth the maxijets I never heard clicking or anything on startup. My Hagen stuttered a little on startup but worked good.
You just plug your powerheads into the outlets, and turns the power to the outlets off and on. Theres a dial that controls speed- from 3 mins on and 3 mins off, down to faster, mayeb 20 secs on and off. Thats it!
There are a total of 4 ports. The number4 port can double as a mainpump port. If you have it selected for Main pump. There is a feed button that you can press. It turns off the main pump and leaves one powerhead running for up to 30mins then the main pump comes on. So you can feed your fish and not your filter
there are two types of setting for the powerheads. FO and reef. When set to reef you can set the current level to calm, choppy, or turbulant. I leave mine on turbulant...
so, my main pump is pushing about 600gph (head pressure + chiller) and my three PH's is about 900gph... so about 1500gph for my 90g reef. I dont think that is bad....
I am planning to pull the powerheads and add a closed loop.. more flow the better....
I use 3 maxijet 1200s and my main pump is a sedra 700... works perfectly. no problems no clicking....
