I'm putting together an article on how to select a calcium and alkalinity supplementation scheme, and I'd like to solicit some input so that I don't have to go buy a bunch of additives.

Specifically, I'm looking for anyone who has any of the two-part calcium and alkalinity supplements (except B-ionic) who can measure the pH of the alkalinity portion with a pH probe.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Randy,
I use the two part additive C-Balance and I do have a handheld pH probe. And Salifert test kits.
What is it you would like me to do?

If the probe is calibrated so it reads pH 10 or so correctly, then dip it into the alk portion of the C-balance and let me know the pH. Thanks!

The reason for asking is that the various two-part systems can be formulated within a wide range of pH values, and I'd like to advise people in the article that brands X, Y, and Z have an immediate big pH raising effect, brands A, and B have no immediate effect on pH, etc.

Morning Dr. Farley,
I measured the pH 3 times of the B part of C-Balance and each time I recieved a measurement of 9.37.
I used a "Checker" handheld digital pH meter by Hannah.
