I am insalling quick disconnect wires on my dual 400 watt pfo hqi ballast. I need to know what wire connectors to use going to the socket wires and also there are three wires on the cord black, white, and green. What does the green go to? There are 2 wires on the sockets one black and the other white.

The 3rd wire( green) is a grounding wire which needs to be attached to the housing of your light, to provide a path to ground, instead of a path through you!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8O
