I got these mushrooms yesterday. At first I thought that they were just green hairy mushrooms which had lost their zooxanthella during transit. But as I looked longer, I convinced myself that they were supposed to be this color. I don't know...maybe this is a common color and I have just never seen it before. Anyway, the "hairy" part is white and reminds me of a coconut and the "body" is bright lime green. Anyone ever seen 'shrooms like these?

I got a rock with two snow white hairy mushroom with lime green tips about 6 months ago. Now they're brown with green tips. Not quite as exciting but OK. They're getting big. One's about 3" accross. They also eat when I feed my brain which is cool.

Tinker is right. They do get big. I bought one advertised as a "pacific ricordea" from a reputable online retailer but this clearly isn't a ricordea as far as I know. If I had to guess I'd say it's either a very large species of hairy mushroom or some type of elephant ear. When I received mine it was about 2", now it's about 5-6" across. Keep an eye on yours...fellow reefer Leonard has told me before that these guys might eat fish. Good luck! :)

My hairy mushrooms are the size of a dinner plate now. Very large they take up one end of my tank. My clowns live under them. they are living on a wine jar handle that a friend got for me when diving of the coast of itialy. They have covered the entire jar and you can not see it. You can feed these guys shrimp they love it . I have never had then give my fish and problems they close kind slow when they are large so if you fish get caught they are pretty stupid.
