I have been setting up a 120gal for seahorses, and i came to realization today that in order to get all the seahorses i need in this tank to make it work properly that i will have to spend like $800 just on them. so i decided that its just not worth the cost. so today i purchased a lemmon peel angel for the tank, he/she is happily eating the hair algea off the back glass, any way i was thinking of putting in a coral beauty or a potters angel, then a juvinile queen angel, after that it would be smaller fish like royal grammas or something, im not sure what yet. i was looking for some input i want community fish but no tangs as i wish to keep most of my plants. here's the tank ifo 120gal 72" long, 6" sand in tank 75-80lbs live rock piled at one end to hide my return and a 750gph power head, the tank is heavly planted with algeas ie halimadia sea grapes, sea grasss, sargasum grass and a few others i dont even know what they are. i have 2 72" 175watt vho lights with an ice cap ballast, my filtration consits of a sump i built with a huge wet dry cranking out nit, to fertilize the plants, also a 12"x12" refugium that has 5" of live sand half new bought from my lfs the other half is from an existing tank about 60 lbs total and a return pump 600 gph at head. i am currently building a skimmer that will be 42" tall and 4" around. any suggestions would be helpfull and appriciated.

you may have some territorial problems stocking the tank in that order. Also is this going to be a reef setup or fowlr? Because it almost seems like you have overkill for the lighting if this isnt going to be reef.

I've seen a flame and a queen in a 90 corner tank.
They didn't seem to mind each other at all.
I've seen a Flagfin(similar color to a lemonpeel) and a coral beauty in 175 bow tank as well.

Now, that said. I think the lemonpeel, coral beauty, and queen could go together in that size tank.
Keep in mind that the queen will get BIG.
So be prepared for getting harrased 'bout keeping it in that small of a tank.

I'm sorry to here about not catching the sob damsel.

both tanks were/are displays at the store.
In the 90 corner with the flame and queen, we also had 3 bannerfish, Hippo tang, and I think a Koran.
The tank was fine until the lights on the 90 corner reef next to it started on fire and we lost all fish.
The 175 bow now has the flagfin, coral beauty, hippo tang, 2-3 corris wrasses (they move so fast I can't tell), 10 green chromis, a nasty mantis shrimp, sand sifting stars and other clean-up crews.
Orchid dottybacks would be cool in there (2-3 could go together)
Anthias would also cool.

thanks lfs42 it seems your the only one with some feed back so i guess thats what im gonna do....i thought i might catch some crap for the 15" queen but in my research i found they need a 150 gal so i guess 120 with a 50gal sump is close enough.

The queen angel will become a bully in a 120 gl aquarium, even at 4 inches. IMO, it won't mix well with the fish you've listed.

Stay away from the genus Holacanthus! Pomacanthus angels are generally less aggressive, but they can get nasty too. IMO, P. annularis is your best bet in that genus. Apolemichthys angels are less aggressive still and there are some great choices here, such as the Goldflake (A. xanthopunctatus) and Flagfin (A. trimaculatus). Least aggressive are the angels in the genus Chaetodontoplus. The Blue-Stripe (C. septentrionalis) has been around lately and Scribble Angels (C. duboulayi) are another good choice. If you really want to get bold, try a Red Sea/Indian Ocean Regal Angel (Pygoplites diacanthus). IMO, perhaps the prettiest fish in the sea. Be sure to see it eat first!

A lot depends on the relative sizes of the fish, but I would generally add a regal angel first. If you're getting a regal, forget about other large angels. It will get bullied. But once you have a regal, why would you want any other angelfish? :D

There are a lot of hardy butterflyfish if you don't have corals to worry about. All the butterflys in the tinkeri complex are VERY hardy but expensive, but worth the money. I'm referring to Chaetodon tinkeri, C. burgessi, C. mitratus, and C. declivis. The Hemitaurichthys butterflys (pyramids) are very sturdy as well as Heniochus. There are moderately hardy butterflys such as C. fasciatus, C. lunula, C. ulietensis, C. falcula, C. semilarvatus, C. kleinii, etc. Prognathodes butterflys from the Atlantic are also hardy but tough to find.
