I have heard of longer lives (for other species of SW fish, not clowns necesarily), but my last pair of Ocelaris clowns lasted about 7 or 8 years.

Sorry, it feels like losing part of the family after that amount of time.

Mango,

I'm so sorry you are loosing your clown!

I have a Clarkii that I have had for 12 years now myself, who came from a friends tank who had him(her?) for two years, and before that who knows! I do know that if this fish could write a book----oh my. The experiences and stories he would have to tell would be amazing. From 7 day power outages (in the winter--in Wisconsin!) to all the many creatures he has had as tank mates. Couldn't we all just hear these stories! I'm sure my fellow reefers have many they could share.

I just wanted to respond to your post as it got me to thinking about all my fish has been through!

What's the longest anyone has kept a fish in their SW tanK?

Commiserating with you,
Hermit

Mango sorry about the clown. I have a 10yr old tomatoe clown that about 2 wks ago just stopped eating and is hanging in the same spot all the time. Her male mate appears fine and eats normal. i started feeding her some live blk worms and see eats a few but not near what she used to eat. i keep praying that if she starts eating more and more she will get better and back to her old self. I can truely feel for u after keeping a fish that long they are hard to lose
