Newbie here, turbo snail issue

Hi, okay I am a serious newbie to saltwater and reef tanks, I'll openly admit that so please forgive anything that sounds stupid. I still haven't learned names for the stuff growingout of my live rock... which brings me to the problem. Six weeks ago I got the live rockand a turbo snail, I have a 10 gallon reef going here, everyone I've talked to and everything I've read said the Turbo is perfectly reef safe, but everytime I get a new growth, the snail knocks it off, anybody have this happen or any ideas or encourgement? Thanks.

I have two and know they are just incredibly like little bulldozers. They really don't care what gets in thier way. If i had to do it all over again I would have nessarius snails and an emerald crab and thats it.
