Well, so far I like em. They are pretty blue, so the tank looks like it is deeper water. The par seems to be less than the 10 ks, but the colors of the corals seem to pop more to my eye. The real test for me will be how the corals react - if they hate it, the lights go back to 10 k. Although I am not looking forward to changing out the bulbs again...
Righty are those Bartlett Anthias in your tank? I've been doing some research and would like to hear someone with experience with these. I'm planning a new 90g and I would like to try them later on down the road.
You can PM if you'd like or I can start a new thread.
No reason not to hijack my own thread a little.
Yes they are Bartletts, and they are great and easy to take care of. They eat everything and are always around. I originally had four, but one ended up baked on my perimeter bracing. I have thought about adding more, but am worried about them fighting. I feed them some flake whenever I pass the tank.
In short, a great, easy fish.
That's about the consensus that I've been reading. Where did you get yours? What are there tank mates? Was there any bickering after the one got sundried?
I see they stay in a pretty tight school. It's cool to school...ya I said it!
IMHO 20k´s look too dark for my taste; yes, the color of the corals shows up better like if you were using actinics but I just find them too dark and blue for my taste.
I have 3 10k´s Ushios 250w and had a HQI 20k pendant for sale so one day I placed the pendant next to the 10k´s. WOW the result was amazing because the intensity of the 10k´s was complemented with the color of the 20k. In short I think the perfect color is the combination of 20 & 10k´s but that would be too expensive and heat adding.
Good you like ´em so keep us updated please
