Thanks, it sure does! I've been slowly collecting the tools and stuff over the past several years, and I can do just about anything I can dream up now. I just picked up a snazzy little compound miter saw at lowe's for $36 a couple weeks ago. Makes it real easy to do all the trimwork.

Here's this afternoon's work, now that the stand is done. I figure I can knock out the canopy construction tomorrow hopefully. :-D

I love to see people building stuff. I built my stand, and had the same idea, I wanted some room in it for something other than fish, so I put CD/DVD shelves on each side.

That really looks great and I love the pulls, where did you dig them up at?

Can't wait to see the finished tank.

BTW didn't anyone ever tell you to measure 20 times and cut once?

I think the original was measure twice and cut once, but I upped it to 20 cause:

I am a knucklehead!

looks great! How did you tack on your plywood frame? Did you use finishing nails or screws? How did you fill in the holes- are they still noticable now that the stand is stained? great work!

btw, where did you find those seahorse door handles!?

The plywood is oak-faced and held onto the framework with 1" finishing nails, set in and then covered with wood putty. The putty worked pretty well, but when you look at it from a sharp angle, the light catches it funny and it's pretty obvious. The seahorse pulls I got from menards, but I've also seen them (as a special order) at lowe's.
