The Chevron Tang?

My LFS just picked one up..

he is 2-3"s and is aclimating well to the systems at the shop. What is the boards opinion on this fish...

i have never kept one. He eats at the LFS... Brne/mysis/bloodworms all soaked in Zoecon and Zoe. VitC and Garlic....

I have 6line wrasse, 1 purp pseudochromis, 1 true Perc, 1 small pac blue tang... (hippatus). and a gnarly lawnmower blenny

They are very very nice looking fish imo, but when they do get older, the colors dull quite a bit.

the shop has a small powder blue. I think my tank is too small though for an adult one....

I bought my Chevron at a good size......I have always wanted one. It was the ideal candidate for my FOWLR. It was about $200 Canadian with tax. It matured much too soon for me.....however,

I have never looked back. It is attractive in personality, hardiness (it was dropped onto the concrete during a tank move, and barely batted an eyelash...) and most importantly, it is an awesome algae eater (of the diatomous algaes).

The Kole is cheaper. The Kole is dumber exponentially.... :lol: One wouldn't want to spend the money for a Chevron unless you are a successful tang keeper, imo.

How can you say something's color dulls when it turns virtually BLACK from orange???????????

I guess someone needs to check out the definition of dulls.

Have you ever seen an adult Chevron?
Have you ever owned a Chevron period?

The fish turns black, it does not fade or dull it turns black, you guys are clueless.

the whole reason he want this tang is because of the striking juvinile colors not the black color that is why we told him this. read the post before you criticize people.
