BTA clones are definitely fine together. People seem to have mixed results keeping other BTA's next to each other though (non clones). However, keeping different anemones next to each other is a bad idea. You are basically looking at starting a chemical war by doing that.

Some people have had luck keeping different types of anemones at opposite ends of large tanks. But some have reported problems with this stating that the first anemone sensed when the new anemone was added and began showing signs of stress.

I've kept a couple of these animals over the years... Would still have two of them if it weren't for my plumbing mistakes...

Anyways's at one point, I had a Mertensii Carpet, a Sebae, and 2 E. Quad clone's in a 55 gallon tank. They all got along just ducky. Then the great flood of 2000 came, and I lost the Sebae and Carpet. Now I have 2 (maybe 3, can't tell) clones of my original E. Quad, and a Rose E. Quad in my 90... Nary a problem. The E. Quads are pretty far apart, however.

My Carpet and Sebae came VERY close to touching for several months, but for some reason, they never "went at it" with each other. The Rose started out it's life in my tank just below my E. Quads, and gradually migrated above and to the left. They have never been closer than those few inches away that I first placed them.

I may be interested in trading a Clone of my Normal E. Quad if you like, but there's a long line for Rose Clone's....:D I can provide you with some pics, if interested PM me.

I can comment on my experience with multiple anemones in the same tank.

I had a Sebae and a Carpet in the same tank. All was fine until the carpet wondered over next to the Sebae. I watched for any interaction between the two, but never noticed anything unusual. After a couple of days, the carpet moved a few inches away from the Sebae. Then started a definite decline in health. The theory is the Sebae stung the Carpet to the point of causing its demise. With the stinging happening below the surface or at the foot level. The Carpet is long since gone and the Sebae is thriving.

I have 2 rose non-clones that touch each other with no problems. My ex had two regular BTAs touching as well. At wholesalers they always stock all the BTAs in one tank, all the sebaes in another, all the carpets in another, etc. Not to say that wholesalers are providing the very best for the animals, but I think any two BTAs will be OK together.
