I am at my local LFS watching what looks like a black lawnmower blennie in a rubble tank. He wasn't shy and everytime I walk up he comes to the front to watch me. I'm thinking there's plenty of algae in my 29 to keep him busy and he ate the herbivore pellets on command like a puppy. So like the sucker for a cute face that I am, I bring him home.

He didn't eat my sexy shrimp which was my biggest concern, but what does he do? He didn't have that nice soft algae in his old rubble tank! Now he thinks he is a toy poodle and curls up on the algae for his naps! Maybe he will eat in his sleep!

PS - The flash reveals his true colors. A lawnmower it is.

one of my favorite guys. :D

they are actually quite funny characters. he will eat your algae and keep your tank nice and clean. you can also supplement him with nori or seaweed selects to keep him fat and happy. mine is a big piggy.

enjoy him!

If I were your lawnmower, I'd think twice to eat a spinach as tall as I.

I find mine feed more on the film algae then turf algae. Mine never touches the leafy macro algae either. I supplement mine with flakes and frozen PE mysis.

He is more of a puppy than any other fish I have had. When I got home he was in the corner of the tank watching me come in the room. Then he came up to the top of the rocks when I opened the top and took a few pellets as I dropped them one by one. The sexy shrimp don't seem to fear himeither. Maybe I will find out if they perform cleaning duties.
