I've been thinking about getting a sixline for my tank and would like your opinion. I have 3 ocellaris and 3 banggai cardinals (all 6 are about 6 months old, so they are smaller than full grown). I also have 2 cleaner shrimp, 1 cucumber, and various micro hermits and snails with my corals.

There shouldn't be any compatibility and aggression issue if you were to get a sixline now. However, how big is your tank? Sixline forage for zooplankton throughout the day. If you weren't able to wean it over to fatty frozen feed, you may lose it.

Actually, the sixliner will attack your cleaner shrimps. I have heard a few stories that sixliners are very aggressive, as in Bin Laden aggressive towards other fish. Also I had people look at me weird when I say they can be little terrorist, because their sixliners wasn't aggressive at all.

I had a 6-line wrasse for about a year. No problems with any fish that were in ther before he arrived. Everything changed when I introduced a Falco's Hawkfish and a Royal Gramma. The wrasse tried to kill the hawkfish (never ending pursuit) and attacked the gramma whenever it tried to come out of it's hole. I finally had to take the tank apart to remove the wrasse (sold him back to the LFS). I agree with Chaotic, these fish can terrorize others if they want to.

I've never had any issues with six lines. Neither of mine have ever touched the pod population either.

Only problem I've ever had with 6-lines or any other small wrasse is that if you ever want to catch them (moving the tank, etc) they WILL bury themselves and you WILL have to sift through every cubic inch of sand to find them!!! They seem to think this is a tremendously amusing game. I had a 12-line that literally took 30-40 minutes to find in a TEN GALLON TANK. Wheeeee!
