Hi, i have a regal sea goddess/greek sea goddess nudibranch (its defense mechanism is that it is poisonous if consumed) and i heard that if it dies in my tank, it could poison the water and kill my fish. is that true????

It is not true. The poison in it's tissue will most likely gives potential predators nasty taste, but rarely does nudibranch that size pollutes whole tank. I think you have already discovered the specimen you have, Hypselodoris picta, is close to impossible to keep in home aquaria. These specialized feeder will slowly starve to death if proper food type is not present (in this case, a unknown sponge). I have a link here you can browse to know more on this specie of nudibranch : http://www.seaslugforum.net/hypspict.htm#m4536 . It is sad though, and we encouage everyone to understand the importance to research before purchase.

BTW, (if no one else has said this yet), Welcome to Reefs.org. This bulletin board has many features that helps newcomers to to get the most out of here. If you got time, take a few minutes and look through here: http://www.reefs.org/library/howto.html
