t 5 lighting

Has anyone herd of t5 ligthing they say its better than a halide light more efficiant & as bright as a halide but I find that hard to belive if anybody has any info on those types of lights please respond thanks.

There was a long post on reefcentral.com awhile back about T5 lighting. From what I remember the general consensus was that it may someday replace PC/VHO lighting but not halides.

Hi, T5 are the new trend in europe. In Portugal they don't appear much but i have some german, french and spannish magazines and they are full of T5 ads.

Germans as always, seem the most advanced in that field.

These lamps are being sold mostly as a suplement to HQI not a replacement.

T-5 is about to hit the market in mass quantity here.. my opinion is it will replace VHO & PC, but not halide. Nice lights tho.. there will be 8 lamp hoods on the market soon that will pretty much blow away any other flourescent type hoods out there.

I will let you know by the middle of next week!! I have no lights now but I'm getting a T5 light setup. I will also have MH to go with it to get the number of watts per gallon right.

The LFS guy had to keep calling the supplier for a price.
