I would like to have one inch to an inch and a half.

The tank bottom will be 92" by 36" (8 feet x 3 feet)

I was planning on mixing crushed coral, Agagonite and live sand.

Thanks for the help

I took out my CC. I hated vacuuming it. It would really fill up with junk quick (like in one week). I think people refer to CC as a nutrient trap

Sounds like an awful lot of gravel to me

if you can swing it, i would recommend just going with a sand mixture. in my opinion, you will be thankful in the long run. though i think for many it is just a matter of preference.

I guess I am kinda old school. I like having the gravel trap the nutrients that way I can gravel clean it all out. I will be doing a gravel cleaning once a week anyway. I have found that with just live sand I never seem to get a good gravel cleaning without removing a bunch of sand and that can get expencive. Plus I hate the bare spots you get with a strong current.

So any ideas on how much i will need?
there got to be some kind of formula out there

thanks
