Yesterday I posted a thread about the Ich problem I had. I proved it was the LFS fault and they gave me a 300.00 credit. I lost about 500.00 in fish. This is ok. They understood. This is the same LFS that does my main. 2 x a month on both my 55 and 90 gal. So now I have to start all over. I have no fish in my FO tank. I was told in my last thread it was all my fault. There are alot of people here who know alot of things and yet there are alot of people here who think they know alot of things. That is why you gather all the info and then come to your own conclusion. Just a little word of advice. Thanks for those who know what they are talking about.

Wow, $300 back? The LFS I work at wouldn't ever do that. How did you prove it was their fault?? I may learn something useful here...

Could you provide a link to the thread where you "proved the LFS" was at fault?

I can't seem to find such a thread.

Seawiz,

Good to see that you get comped. I bet they did this out of more "customer retention" than out of legal liability but that is one man's opinion. I think that if they did sell you an ichey fish they did the right thing and you did the right thing for standing up for yourself. You sound like a customer who puts lots of green in their pockets on a steady basis and they don't want to lose you. I do wonder though if they would do this for a one time customer.

Quaranteening is a good practice and if it can be practiced it should but this is no reason for a LFS to ignore their own health practices and their obligations to paying customers. My LFS holds all new fish for 7 days and will not sell a fish that will not eat or that acts funny even if you want it.

Sounds like things worked out OK (less $200)

I think what help is they do the mainetance on my tanks plus yes I do spend alot of money there. They new I called the next day and told them taht the fish I bought had ich.All these things helped. I have about 2 more weeks before I can add anything. This was a lesson the be learned. I hate seeing anything die. I sometimes treat my corals as if they were human
