Chillers and fans

:?: For those who used a chiller to keep there reef tanks cool,can you tell us what tem do you keep your tank at?Did the humidity go down in the room that you keep your tank in?And do you still used fans? This info will help a lot of us who are thinking about a chiller. RGibson

I have a 1/6th HP aquamedic titan chiller on a 90g reef. temp is between 25c and 26c. (77 to 78.6 F) my heater kicks in 76.5F

no humidity change . the chiller dumps the heat out the back..... so have good ventilation...

I bought a chiller for when the temps really go up high.
Normally, I use a fan on the chiller controller to maintain the temps.
I run my tank currently at 80 degrees. I've run it as high as 85 degrees for YEARS without a problem.
The problem with a chiller is that it really dumps a lot of heat into the room.
Metal Halides dump a lot, but the chiller can really make the room warm.

Have no way of measuring humidity, so I cannot answer that... Sorry.

I have to run a 1/3 hp chiller and I also run a couple fans.
My setup is in a closet on the 2nd floor of a 2 story condo in south Florida.
My tank is built into the wall .
I also have an exhaust fan in the ceiling to exhaust the heat from 3 - 400 watt MH and a bunch of PC'S and a vho. All the pumps and all really add heat to the room also.
I run my chiller out on the balcony . I run the pvc up through the attic about 100 ft round trip .
Chillers really should be run outside the house if possible.
I run my system at 81 degrees.
I have never had to use a heater in over 20 years of salt water keeping.
