Changing Active Carbon

How often would you recommend changing the Active Carbon in a hang oN filter? 37 G. (hasn't been changed in 10 mo.)

Hi Ikarus.
From what i have read it is anywhere between every two weeks and three months.test the water for yellowing and then you will know its time to renew the carbon.

If you rinse it every week to two weeks it can last as long as three months. More realistically, every couple of months or so (with the regular rinsing).

i replace my carbon every 3-4 weeks, i used to do it every 2 weeks but got lazy

I have two bags of carbon tht have been in my fluval for about 6 months. I have a total of 6 bags in there, They are all that are in the fluval. I take them out once every two weeks and rinse them off. I also smash them and scrunch them to grind off all the junk that has collected on the carbon. This seems to make it like new again. I have had no probs from doing this and my water is very clear.
