Am in the process of putting together my new tank over the next month - the stuff listed below is mostly bought and paid for with a few noted exceptions (like the sump). Just need a few suggestions on what size sump you'd use and whether to plumb it with external pump or in sump (aware of heat issues - was going to go with an eheim 1262 if in sump). Anything I'm missing? I decided against closed loop for now and may do an out of tank over the top one later on.

- Tank 215 gallon Oceanic Reef Ready w/ 2 Overflows 72x24x28.5

- 3 x 250w DE HQI Pendants 10k Bulbs w/ ballasts

- 2x VHO actinics on 660 ballast

- Euroreef CS 8-2 Skimmer

- Korallin C1502 Ca Reactor

- Tunze PH / C02 Controller

- 2 x 250 W Ebo Jager Heaters

- Sump - not settled on one, may just get oceanic model 3 RR

- 2 x Tunze Streams for circulation , may also use wavemaster I currently have with some maxijets for extra flow.

Anything else? Also trying to decide on what to do about substrate - this tank will have a 60 gallon refugium that sits next to it on a 8 foot stand. I like DSBs but hate the sand blowing around when using the stream. I don't really like the way barebottom tanks look and am trying to go for as much natural filtration as possible since that has worked so well on my previous tanks.

If I did a 4" DSB in the main tank, let it cycle and added some LS from my other tanks and maybe a few detrivore kits I'd let it settle in for a month at least before adding any livestock. I have about 120 lbs of fiji and carribean live rock now and don't plan on buying any more - want to have a more open look in this tank.

Residents will be mostly LPS - going to move most of my leathers to another tank or trade them in. For fish I have:

- Harlequin Tusk
- Niger Trigger
- Regal Tang
- Bicolor Blenny
- Marine Betta (currently living in refugium)
- Pair of Watchmen gobies
- Pair of Bangaiis (currently in mangrove sump trying to actually get some fry to live for a change)
- Red Fairy Wrasse

Probably not going to move the bangaiis and gobies to new tank but was trying to figure out a good schooling fish that could handle some of the rough fish I have already - Chalk bass maybe? I was also thinking if moving the small fish out I could do a semi aggressive reef and add a snowflake moray and move my dwarf lion over from another tank but afraid he'd get picked on or outcompeted for food.

Thoughts?

Anyone?
