Hi. I have a 55gal reef tank that has been running for about 3 years now. I have a plenum and about 45lbs of LR that have been in the tank since I set it up. I currently only have mushrooms, anthelia (Ill get to that later) and one star polyp coral. I had a pseudochromis but he died after about two years. The upshot of my post is to find out if I can add about 10-15 lbs of cured rock (maybe from Premuim Aquatics) to juice up my tank. I do plan on adding more corals but would like more rock before I do so.
Any thoughts?

P.S.
Anybody know of a predator that will kill anthelia polyps? I got a small amount of them in a IPSF order about two years ago and they took off like wild fire! I have eradicated the larger heads but there are now little ones springing up everywhere.

Hi. I don't know of any predators for the polyps you mention (outside possibly some angels or butterflies, but even then not sure), but I don't see why you can't add the live rock. However, I'll caution you to go ahead and place it in your own container first, rather than immediately place it into your display system. Two reasons; I'm always wary of claims of "pre-cured" (plus, you can expect a bit of die-off from shipping stresses anyway), and you never know what "goodies" you may be placing in the system If you take this precaution it's my opinion that you'll be better off, and may avert potential disaster.
