I was wanting to drip my kalkwasser into my aquarium rather than pouring it in as this spikes the ph. However, i'm not willing to fork out 300$ or however much theses insanley expensive systems are, so i was wondering of a way to set up a 50$ and under drip system. :D

For dripping, I use a recycled milk or water jug.

The cap has two airlines tubes running through it, one is attached to a rigid airline tube that goes almost to the bottom of the jug, with a small valve on the end that goes into the tank (or sump) with a valve on it to adjust drip rate. There is also another air line tube that goes into the jug, but only an inch or so.

Fill jug with mixed kalk, hang tube with valve on it into sump or tank, but the end must be below the bottom of the jug. Blow into the other, shorter tube, this forces kalk out the valved tube and starts a siphon, so it will all drip out at the rate you set with the little valve. Note that the lid must be screwed on tight if you want the siphon to start when you blow on the shorter tube.

I am sure there is a clarifying diagram somewhere because I copied this from something I saw on a reef board.
