I am trying to decide on a pump for my system. My main tank is approx. 12 feet above where my sump with be.(Basement) I worked out all the math and there will be about 22 feet of head applied to the pump. I'm basically stuck between the following three models.

Iwaki MD 100 RLT
Sequence Reeflo Marlin
Dolphin AM 7500/6500.

I pretty much know about how reliable and noisy the Iwaki's are especially the Japanese motor version. Can any provide any feedback on the other two?

Thanks in Advance.

Will you have sand in your system? How did you get 22' of head pressure? use spa flex to reduce the number of hard 90 degree turns.

I never used Sequence Marlin pumps, but all other Sequence and Ampmaster pumps (about 10 in total) I have used require periodic seal replacements. The seal wears out very quickly if you use fine sand in your system. You won't need to replace any seal in the Iwaki (or similar magnetically coupled pumps), just a vinegar bath for the pump head once a while if you run a reef tank.

Thanks for all of your input. My system is as follows.
150 gallon RR Oceanic. dual overflows(1 1/2") and returns(3/4") I have dual line loc on both overflows. My sump will be located in the basement about 12' down. I intend to use one of the pumps I've mentioned and maybe the Genx As House recommened. Either way I will be teeing off the return line with a WYE pipe. I figure to run the spa flex(3/4") from the WYE (which will be located right underneath the tank)One will be connected to a Current usa 1/4 hp chiller with built in heater and UV then to the tanks return the other straight to the return of the tank. The Run is pretty much straight up from the sump so I will be using pvc(the size will be determined by the pump)
Marlin(3/4)
Iwaki(1")
Dolphin Ampmaster(2")

I love lots of flow coming out of the return line in the tank.

I had called Dolphin And Sequence and they pretty much said the same thing as for as the Head pressure(22').

I think the sequence will blow all the rest out of the water especially since you are going to have it pump upwards of 12 feet. The Iwaki would only push out at most 1700 w/ 0 head.
