Aiptasia or not to Aiptasia

i have 3 peppermints in my tank and i was wondering 1) do they for sure eat Aiptasia?? and 2) would it be wise to put an aiptasia in my tank as a "treat " for the 3 little shrimps...I know aiptasia spread fast..its more for my curiosity on aiptasia getting eating :? :twisted:

P.S. This maybe a stupid question but please dont crucify me :lol:

You want to do anything in the world, but introduce aiptasia into your tank. If you want to give them a little treat, give them a extra piece of food.

Peppermint shrimp are hit and miss when it comes to eating aiptasia. If you want to give your shrimp a treat give them something meaty like shrimp or mussels.

Just wait a bit and you will have your own Aiptasia. They will pop up eventaully if you stay in the hobby. I have been trying to kill mine off. They are bulletproof......at least mine are. My peppermints(my eel ate them)would keep the population down but would not eat the large ones. I have one now large enough to eat a small Percula. I will get him ....I will probably get me a Copperband just to eat it then take him back to the store.

Yes bingo, AOHELL sucks, but i cant get cable or dsl in my place...blah...oh well...hell my good comp is down and ive been using the laptop....But i get the point on Aiptasia, Like i said i know they are bad, and can sting sessile inverts and coral...

I have people that comment on the "cool brown things" in my tank very frequently. I don't have any corals.only a few mushrooms.
