dKH reading

My tank has been up for 4 weeks.
My dKH reading is 11.

This is the first time I used sand.

I used to use dolomite and dKH would stay at 18-20.

I have read opinions where some run dKH over 20 and have read that it should be in the low teens.

What is ideal?

Also, my calcium is at 500ppm.

Ideal, IMO, is NSW. NSW = about 8dkH. I have no idea how some people drive their dKH up to 20 without severely affecting pH or Ca. I could never get mine that high, even with both a Ca reactor and kalkreactor running.
