An "old chestnut"

Guys sorry to rehash an old issue, but I am having a few problems setting up a sulphur denitrator.

I have set it up using a syphon from main tank and have the flow set really slow using a hose restrictor, however I tested the unit today (after 4 days) to see if the effluent was any lowere ( although I wasnt expecting results yet) only to find the effluen in excess of 200 ppm

How and why has this occured. My main tank is about 5 - 10 ppm, so where has it all come from

Any suggestions please.

Why don't you contact Marc Langouet [[email protected]], who designed that sort of denitrator in the first place.

I know he just loves talking about it and helping people with it.

On the side: are you running a reef? If yes, why the denitrator?
