I just put together my new RO/DI unit. I was not able to install the top membrane and get the 3/4" depth on the end that was in the instructions. I could only get a 1/4" depth on the membrane in the cartridge. Is that normal or should I try to force it in more? I put quite a bit of pressure on it during installation and believe it is fully seated and will not go deeper. The slotted end of the membrane is not seated against the end cap with the single hose. Is the membrane suppose to be seated against the screw on end cap? Any help would greatly appreciated.

Every membrane is different, since it varies from manufacturer to manufacturer (only one or two anyway...) and more importantly, from batch to batch.

As long as the rubber gasket is inside the pressure vessel, and you can close the vessel cap all the way, then it is fine. Turn on the water, and make sure there is no leak near the cap (cap is not in all the way). Make sure the ratio of brine and RO is about 1:4 (membrane gasket is leaking, and the membrane need to be resited).

Congrate on the purchase, and contact the OEM because they have great service too.
