C. Interruptus on Ebay

I have never seen a fish with so many colors on it. The rare times that you can find one online they cost 900-1000. This guy is selling his for $350.00

There are some rare angle that sells for thousands of dollars, but I am not a fish person, so I don't know if it is it.

As an aside, when I first saw the title of this thread, I thought it is about eBay auction that ended too soon... as in a type of unrealiable form of birth control.

If you use eBay with any regularity, then you'll know to avoid this seller. Check his most recent feedback ratings.

Also, I would be leery of buying such a fish via eBay, yeah?

I went to L.A. with BobF a few weeks ago, and got to see some of the first captive bred C. interruptus ever. Too bad I couldn't get better pics. :|

C. interruptus usually goes for around 600. C. hotumatua usually goes for around 800-1000. The grandaddy of them all, C. boylei, apparently goes for around 5000. I've never seen a price on a good looking C. vrolikii X C. flavissimus. Anyone know?

Matt, about 200-300 bucks. Rare fish prices are highly variable. I've seen C.hotumatuas for $1500 and as little as $250 (which I promptly bought! )

I thought fish was illegal to sell on ebay? 8O

i agree with seamaiden, the seller has jerked people around for a couple bucks, doesn't make me want to buy a $550 fish from him. also he hasn't been active on ebay for alomst a year. maybe was doing a stint in county...lol. j/k

I haven't seen a boylei around for a long time. Fact is, I've only seen them sold on two occassions, both in the same week. I don't foresee any coming around any time soon. Frankly, i'm not too taken by the fish either. It's not a multi-thousand dollar looking fish (which fish is? )

I could see spending 1200 on a conspic, as it looks like no other angel. I agree, a peppermint doesn't look all that spectacular. Just imagine a flame and a multi barred hybridizing. Hotumatuas are, IMO, not all that great either. With that much money I'd rather buy a harem of ventralis anthias or a dragon eel. Much more impressive.

thats kinda what i figured. the last one i saw for sale was darn near $10k. ouch!

the c. boylei is still my dream fish though.
