Purchase a skimmer rated for 2 -2.5 times the water volume of your tank. Then have a total system water turnover of 20times + per hour. addequate live rock and sandbed depth. I used to use ozone. then i bought a skimmer that didn't allow me to connect ozone. and my system has done much better. hth
