Hi guyz Im old school im 29 and been here LONG time ago just back NOW lol, BUT my Corals are great all TORCH / MUSH etc. JUST wondering if B-IONIC is still the BEST thing too use beside good additional components like extra CA and KH+
I use it on my 45. It works great but it does seem to raise my Alk a little more than my Ca. Probably something in my tank! I got mine at http://www.captivereefs.com for $24.06 Cheapest place I found it at
Yeah, Randy Holmes Farley had a good comparison on the costs vs. tank volume for calcium and carbonate supply. I think you can find it by searching thru the archives at Advanced Aquarist.
With a 29 gal tank, a two part solution like B-Ionic is a cost effective way to maintain calcium & alkalinity (IIRC).
I use B-Ionic in my 55, and drip kalk nightly. With that I can barely keep up w/ my livestock's demand. And I'm dosing 30ml of each part per day.
on my 75gal, i have to dose 35ml of the calcium part daily to keep it at the right level. I only dose 10ml of the alkalinity and it stays at 11. if i dose the same amount as the calcuim, my alk goes way too high.
You guys are lucky. I'm dosing 90 ml of each part a day. With the Kalk, it's worked for now, but I have a feeling that I'm going to have to eventually break down and get a calcium reactor. I really hate making things so techy. I prefer the KISS approach.
