I'm setting up a ca reactor. Need advise on which one to get. Will a ph monitor be sufficient or should I purchase a ph controller.
pro's/con's of both? Need you input please.

Thanks

Personally, I don't use either for my tank. However, a pH monitor can be handy when you suspecting something in the water is out of wack (maybe once or twice a year). Some people have a pH controller and solenoid setup, but IMO, both are unnecessary.

Now, if I am selling these gadgets, then my opinion may change. ;)

I have a pinpoint ph monitor. I really like it, and when you first set up your CA, you want to test frequently to make sure the tank isn't having ph swings from the reactor, and to see how low the reactor effluent is.

I find it very handy and worth the money. I got a AC adaptor for mine so I can leave it in the tank all the time and the batteries won't go dead.
